The Jaipur Hub is delighted to host SHAPE South Asia 2024. Physical attendance for the entire duration of the program in Jaipur is mandatory for all participants.

SHAPE South Asia will take place from 27th September 2024 (Friday) to 29th September 2024 (Sunday).

Engage in thought-provoking sessions, activities, and discussions that delve into the region's economic, cultural, and geopolitical transformations and their implications for the future. Immerse yourself in various activities showcasing local cuisine, traditions, entrepreneurial endeavours, and heritage, offering a comprehensive insight into South Asian diversity and innovation. Beyond exploration, SHAPE events are renowned for cultivating lifelong friendships, so anticipate connecting with fellow changemakers passionate about driving positive change. Expect an inspiring and collaborative environment where you'll gain valuable insights, forge meaningful connections, and contribute to shaping a brighter future for South Asia and beyond.

Application

The registration for SHAPE South Asia will be launched on the Jaipur Hub’s website (https://jaipurshapers.org).
The applications will close on 30th June (23:59 IST). The Jaipur Hub will compile a list of shortlisted participants based on diversity and inclusion criteria, ensuring fair representation of Shapers across hubs in the region, per the GSC Guidelines, which include 10% Alumni and 15% from outside the region. Shortlisted participants will receive an email containing a link and code to register on the EventsMo app and the payment of the application fee. Upon successful payment or approval for a subsidy, participants will receive confirmation of their registration for SHAPE South Asia 2024. Please note that application fee waivers are limited and require supporting information.

Please do not book your travel or accommodation to the venue city at this stage, as completing this form does not guarantee a confirmed seat at SHAPE South Asia 2024. Delegates will be responsible for arranging and covering their own travel expenses and visa fees. Our delegation team will notify you once your seat is confirmed.

After the closure of the application form, shortlisted applicants will receive an email confirmation from the hub by the mid-July. These candidates will then have 7 days to complete their registration and pay the event participation fee to secure a seat for SHAPE South Asia 2024.

Applicants with Nepal & Bhutan citizenship do not require a visa to enter India. Applicants from most other countries can enter India with a valid visa to be secured as per the applicable norms. However, we encourage you to contact your local embassies or consulates to understand if your country has specific requirements. In case your country is not eligible for the e-visa, please reach out to your travel agent to understand the visa requirements and the documents required. For any support regarding supporting documents that you might need from Jaipur Hub, kindly write us at hello@jaipurshapers.org.

A dedicated Selection Committee will be established alongside the Curatorship. This committee will assess your application anonymously, adhering to diversity and inclusion criteria, as is customary for all Global Shapers Community events.

The total fee for each participant is USD 125 plus platform charges. Upon confirmation, selected delegates will receive payment details via email.

  • 3 nights accommodation (on a twin-sharing basis) in the venue hotel with access to its facilities (27, 28, and 29 September 2024)
  • Check-out will be on 30 September before noon.
  • Lunch on 27, 28 and 29 September 2024
    Dinner on 27, 28 and 29 September 2024
    Breakfast on 28, 29, and 30 September 2024
  • Sessions/Activities from the afternoon of 27 September 2024 till the evening of 29 September 2024

All Shapers must obtain travel and health insurance that covers travel to and the duration of SHAPE South Asia 2024. Evidence of insurance will be requested during onsite registration. While the city boasts excellent medical facilities, having insurance provides peace of mind in unforeseen circumstances. Please ensure the insurance policy includes coverage for COVID-19 and other potentially infectious diseases.

The Global Shapers Community maintains a zero-tolerance policy towards harassment or discrimination. This policy applies to all SHAPE events. Every Global Shaper must uphold an environment free from unwelcome, intimidating, offensive, or inappropriate behaviour. Participants are expected to demonstrate respect for diverse cultures, opinions, and perspectives.

The Global Shapers Community specifically prohibits:

  • Unwelcome sexual advances, including behaviour perceived as offensive or persistently discouraged by the targeted individual.
  • Offensive or abusive actions, such as bullying, stalking, belittling jokes, or innuendos aimed at creating an intimidating or disparaging event atmosphere.
  • Inappropriate remarks regarding race, colour, gender, national origin, accent, age, ability, medical condition, marital status, sexual orientation, or religion.
  • Intimidation, threats, or aggression towards host hubs. Hosts are volunteers and deserve respect.
  • If you witness improper conduct or experience harassment, immediately contact a member of the Jaipur Hub, the Global Shapers Team, or our Governing Bodies.
  • If the situation escalates beyond the Global Shapers Community's jurisdiction, local authorities will be notified. Global Shapers who fail to adhere to these guidelines may be asked to leave the event promptly, and their membership in the Global Shapers Community may be revoked.

Jaipur warmly welcomes solo travellers, as it boasts a reputation for safety. With its low crime rates, tourists from all corners of the globe, including those travelling alone, find comfort in exploring the city's enchanting sights and experiences without worry.

WEATHER

In September, Jaipur gets pretty warm, like the end of summer. Daytime temperatures usually range from 25°C to 35°C, evenings cool down a bit. It's still the monsoon season during this time, so you can expect occasional rainfall, which may bring some relief from the heat. However, humidity levels can be relatively high. It's advisable to stay hydrated and pack light with breathable clothing, along with an umbrella or raincoat just in case.
